Knowledge is a joy for the one who has the will of a lion. 🧠 The exhausted
person, however, becomes merely an “object of will,” played with by every wave.
So it is with the weak: they lose themselves on their roads. Finally, their
weariness asks: “Why did we ever walk those roads? Everywhere is the same.” [I
have had such periods of decline too ✔️.] Then it becomes pleasant to hear a
sermon saying: “Nothing is rewarded! You must desire nothing!” [There is
even a rationalization: “Everything is vanity; complete knowledge is
impossible.” ©️] Yet this is a sermon calling for slavery (Nietzsche, 2017,
approximate quotation, p. 451).
Winning freedom requires strength and resolve. It turns us into lions.

❇️ TRANSFORMATION THROUGH WILL ❇️
“Thou shalt” is the mantra imposed by the great dragon, symbol of existing
values and obligations. “All values have already been created, and every
created value is me. Truly, there shall be no more ‘I will’!” says the
dragon.
The lion's spirit refuses. It seeks self-knowledge and freedom, the right to
create its own values rather than follow someone else's prescriptions. The
lion's answer, “I will,” expresses individuality and self-determination.
❇️ CREATING NEW VALUES ❇️
My brothers, why is a lion needed in the human spirit? Why is the patient and
reverent beast of burden not enough? The lion cannot yet create new values,
but the lion's strength can create freedom for new creation. To win freedom
and a sacred “no,” even before duty itself, one must become a lion. 🦁🔓
❇️ WILL AND RESISTANCE ❇️
Winning the right to new values is the most terrifying conquest for a
patient and reverent spirit. It looks like robbery, the work of a beast of prey.
The spirit once loved “thou shalt” as sacred. Now it must see arbitrariness
and illusion even within that sacred thing in order to gain freedom from its
love. For this conquest, it must become a lion. (Nietzsche, 2017)
❇️ THE MUSIC OF THE SPIRIT ❇️

jackal (Oxxxymiron*). These words remind us of inner strength and resilience.
Even when tested or wounded, the spirit can preserve its essence and power.
Creating new values is a path toward transformation and true freedom.
